Quantomba 1900 is a new summer camp that combines, on the one hand, quantum computing studies at the level of basic theory and practice (what does this mean? How can you already experiment with quantum computers, and familiarization with basic algorithms in the field) and, on the other hand, diverse and fun social activities (pool, movies, trips and the like). The quantomba 1900 camp is a follow-up camp to the Tomba and Komba summer camps, albeit at a more advanced level.
Dr. Ben Ohayon recently joined the faculty of the Technion’s Department of Physics after returning from a 3.5-year post-doc fellowship in Prof. Paolo Crivelli’s lab at ETH Zürich’s Institute of Particle Physics and Astrophysics.

The Technion’s quantum community gathered on December 30, 2021 at Ramat HaNadiv in Zichron Yaakov for the third annual retreat organized by the Helen Diller Quantum Center. The event was a clear success from both a professional and a social perspective. The day-long retreat offered an opportunity for Technion students and faculty members affiliated with the Quantum Center to spend time together outside of their customary environment.

Dr. David Gelbwaser-Klimovsky is still settling into his new position at the Technion. He just returned to Israel after seven years in the U.S., where he pursued a post-doc at Harvard and then a fellowship at MIT. Originally from Mexico, Dr. Gelbwaser made Aliyah when he was 24 and completed Master’s and PhD degrees in Physics from the Weizmann Institute before moving to Boston. A distinguished theoretician specializing in quantum mechanics, he was warmly welcomed at the Technion’s Schulich Faculty of Chemistry and the Helen Diller Quantum Center. Dr.

To the PodQuantum   New Podcast Featuring Quantum Experts Spurs Curiosity The Helen Diller Quantum Center recently launched PodQuantum, a podcast series designed to make people in general – and Technion students in particular – more comfortable with and curious about the field of quantum science. Many students do not study quantum science or quantum engineering because they simply don’t understand what it actually is and why it could be useful to them.

Technion’s Helen Diller Quantum Center has recently launched a series of online mini lectures by Technion faculty, each of which explains a different basic concept in the field of quantum science and technology. The short lectures, which are in Hebrew, are designed to make this field more accessible to the general public and to encourage the community at large to discover the fascinating world of quantum science.
