Meet our new faculty member: Dr. David Gelbwaser-Klimovsky
  Dr. David Gelbwaser-Klimovsky is still settling into his new position at the Technion. He just returned to Israel after seven years in the U.S., where he pursued a post-doc at Harvard and then a fellowship at MIT. Originally from Mexico, Dr. Gelbwaser made Aliyah when he was 24 and completed Master’s and PhD degrees in Physics from the Weizmann Institute before moving to Boston. A distinguished theoretician specializing in quantum mechanics, he was warmly welcomed at the Technion’s Schulich Faculty of Chemistry and the Helen Diller Quantum Center. Dr.

  To the PodQuantum   New Podcast Featuring Quantum Experts Spurs Curiosity The Helen Diller Quantum Center recently launched PodQuantum, a podcast series designed to make people in general – and Technion students in particular – more comfortable with and curious about the field of quantum science. Many students do not study quantum science or quantum engineering because they simply don’t understand what it actually is and why it could be useful to them.

Spin-optics on an Atomic Scale: Chips of the Future
Technion researchers develop a smart light source based on a single atomic layer of matter. The achievement provides a platform for the development of new quantum applications for computing and communication. Researchers at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology have developed a new light source based on a single atomic layer. The discovery is based on the interaction of a single atomic layer with nano-antenna arrays in a silicon chip by creating defects in photonic crystals.
