TRAINING & COLLABORATION FUNDING GUIDELINES
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
ALL documents must arrive on time and COMPLETE
Incomplete applications will NOT be submitted to the committee for review
Applications are due by specific deadlines (see bellow)
No retroactive funding
APPLICATION DEADLINES (2026)
Applications accepted 4 times per year:
February 10,May 3, July 29, December 1 (Dates set to align with major conference and collaboration schedules)
Replies will be given within 3 weeks of each deadline.
Funding is subject to the centre’s budget limitations.
ELIGIBILITY
Support is available to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers registered at the Technion during the travel or training period.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Submit your request via the online form below-
Indicate your research topic at the Technion
Explain the relevance to your proposed training/collaboration.
2. Limit: Up to two applications per calendar year (one year from the last approved training/collaboration)
If two requests are submitted within the same calendar year, the total combined support cannot exceed the maximum amount listed below
3. Maximum support per application:
a) TRAINING IN A HOST LABORATORY and COLLABORATION
(Subsidizing travel and partially subsidizing stay costs against matching funding)
1-2 weeks duration:
Europe: up to $1,500 (including VAT)
USA / Far East / South America: up to $2,500 (including VAT)
3-4 weeks duration:
Europe: up to $3,000 (including VAT)
USA / Far East / South America: up to $4,000 (including VAT)
Matching requirements: The HDQC will cover at most 60% of the total costs.
We expect matching funding from the following -
-Matching funding from your advisor
-Other funding sources
-The hosting lab/Institution
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
5. Required documentation:
Training:
Letter of support from your advisor
Short outline of the research program
Letter of support from the hosting institution/collaborator
For postdocs: "Travel authorization form" from the Vice President of Academic Affairs office, approved by your Dean's office
AFFILIATION & ATTRIBUTION
7. Affiliation requirements:
All scientific output resulting from the collaboration must include center affiliation
Publications and presentations must list affiliation as follows:
"Department of [X] and the Helen Diller Quantum Centre, Technion, Israel"
Example publication format:

POST-TRIP PROCEDURES
At the end of your trip:
-Send an email to the Helen Diller Quantum Center (pazitsav@technion.ac.il) confirming that:
Trip-related invoices and receipts have been submitted to Technion Finance department for
reimbursement, according to the Technion formal procedure.
-Payment has been approved by the Technion Finance Department.
- Receipt of the reimbursement for the trip is subject to the trip approval in the SAP portal and according to the approval and information sent to those entitled from the portal
