Magic state generation is a key ingredient in quantum computing, and until recently it was believed to consume a large amount of computational resources.

Magic state cultivation is a newly proposed protocol that represents the state of the art in magic state generation, drastically reducing the required resources.
 

In this talk, I will present several protocols for magic state injection and cultivation that provide an additional reduction to the state-of-the-art resource estimates. I will discuss their efficiency when operating with erasure qubits and under noise models relevant to neutral atoms and ions. I will also review two proposals for long-range gates for superconducting qubits.
